Started in 1951 as a credit union for the workers of Consumers Power ("ELectric and GAs workers) it offered banking and loan services to a relatively small group of people. Later, when the credit union laws changed, ELGA's services became available to many, many more members throughout Michigan. Terry will take us through their history and how it is serving our community today.
Road Trip!!! The Genesee Intermediate School District through its Career Institute program has invited us to have lunch and tour the facility where thousands of our kids learn skills and go on to lucrative careers in our community. Please follow the link below to register.
Each month during the school year the club honors two students from each of three high schools in the area, Carman-Ainsworth, Swartz Creek and Powers Catholic. To accommodate each school's health policies, we will be honoring students either via Zoom or in person this year.
At the end of the year one previous honoree from each school will be selected for Student of the Year and will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
May 24, 2022 - Salvation Army
Genesee County Chapter
While the Army is most visible at Christmas time when we join other non profits in the area to help with bell ringing, they provide our community with a wide range of services throughout the year.
Lydia from the Salvation Army will join us to accept the club's annual donation and to update us on the work of the Genesee County chapter.
President George will give us a review of the year and President Elect Joe will preview the goals next year. Treasurer Jerry will give us a financial update and Assistant Governor Jeff will provide a status report on the Miracle League project.
It's a full agenda, don't miss this meeting.
