Jan. 23, 2024 - Classification Talks
Michael Braun and Jim Kitchen

As is Rotary tradition, we periodically give club members an opportunity to tell us about themselves. This week, two of our newer members, Mike and Jim will share stories about their backgrounds, their careers and what they hope to get out of Rotary.

The term "classification talk" comes from the early Rotary rules that each Rotarian had to have a profession and that no club could have more than two members with the same profession. Members jobs became their classifications and new members would be called upon to give a talk to the club about their classifications.

Today, that has all changed and Rotary welcomes all members who have a desire to give back to their communities. Now, the classification talk is a way for a club to welcome new members and get to know more about them.

Jan. 30, 2024 - Club Assembly

A full agenda is planned including:

  * A final report on the Five Grand fundraiser
  * Planning for the Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders
  * Club Rotary Foundation update
  * Club charitable giving for the year

50/50 Drawing Update
Each week the club holds a 50/50 drawing with proceeds going to our literacy project fund. Tickets are $1.00 each, 3 for $2.00. Three tickets from that week's donations are drawn and, in turn, each drawn ticket holder gets to select a card from an ever shrinking deck hoping to get the designated card and win the pot. Losing cards are discarded, the deck gets smaller and if no one wins the pot that week, it is rolled over to the next drawing.
